How does Zineryt Topical Solution work?
It contains two active ingredients. Erythromycin is classed as a "macrolide" antibiotic - one of the most commonly used types of antibiotic for the infections that are associated with acne. Zinc is known to help the process of wound healing when applied to the skin. Antibiotics that are applied to the skin in this way are particularly suitable for people who cannot take - or do not wish to take - an antibiotic orally.
How to use Zineryt Topical Solution?
Zineryt topical solution comes as a dry powder which must be mixed with a liquid and shaken before it can be used. Please follow the instructions on the side of the box to prepare the product before using it. We leave this step for you to complete so the product will last as long as possible. After it has been prepared for first use, it should be used within 8 weeks; any remaining medicine should be discarded after this time.
The treatment is usually applied to the affected area and the surrounding skin twice a day, after the area has been washed and dried. The medicine comes in a bottle with a special applicator pad, making it easy to apply to the skin. It can be used by children, adults, and the elderly if necessary.
Zineryt topical solution can take several weeks, or sometimes months, before you will see it working, and it should not be used for more than 10 to 12 weeks continuously. It should be used carefully on the face; avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.
Is Zineryt Topical Solution suitable for me?
There are some situations where Zineryt topical solution should be used with caution or would not be recommended, so complete the consultation questions fully and carefully. It is not usually used at the same time as any other treatments for acne. If it doesn't work for you, talk to your doctor as a different acne treatment might be better.
Tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, either from your GP or purchased from a pharmacy. Zineryt topical solution may not be suitable or may need to be used with caution if you are taking medicines for other conditions. It will not be suitable if you are allergic to erythromycin or other macrolide antibiotics, zinc, or any of the other ingredients.
What are the side effects of Zineryt Topical Solution?
Like all medicines, Zineryt topical solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Side effects that are considered to be common include skin dryness, redness, irritation, or itching.
