Pharmacy2U Limited Gender Pay Gap Report 2022-23

Pharmacy2U is the UK’s largest online pharmacy and since founding the UK’s first online pharmacy in 1999 our team have continued to redefine pharmacy care by putting our patients at the heart of everything we do. Our constant focus on our patients has seen us grow to be the UK’s largest online pharmacy. The continued success of Pharmacy2U is largely attributed to its employees and at Pharmacy2U we value diversity and equality within our workforce and our customer base.

What is the gender pay gap?

The gender pay gap is the difference in the average hourly wage of all men and women across a workforce. If women do more of the less well-paid jobs within an organisation than men, the gender pay gap is usually bigger. The gender pay gap is not the same as unequal pay which is paying men and women differently for performing the same (or similar) work. Unequal pay has been unlawful since 1970.

Pharmacy2U’s results

As of 5th April 2022, the Pharmacy2U workforce was made up of 46% men and 54% women, the median pay gap based on hourly rate was -2% and the mean pay gap based on hourly rate was 16%.

The proportion of males and females between pay quartiles:

The proportion of males that received a bonus was 13% and the proportion of females was 12%, the median bonus gender pay gap was 37% and the mean bonus gender pay gap was 69%. 

Having reviewed the data including comparing our results to other organisations and the national averages it is clear that the gender pay gap at Pharmacy2U is due to the nature of the roles within the organisation and is not a result of paying men and women differently for performing similar roles. 

As a business we will continue to drive equality and continue to support equal gender pay.
