What are the signs of high blood pressure?
High blood pressure isn’t usually something that you feel or notice. It usually has no symptoms, so the first sign of it can sometimes be a heart attack or stroke. That’s why it’s called the silent killer. The only way to find out if you have high blood pressure is to have a blood pressure check.
Occasionally, people with very high blood pressure have symptoms including headaches, bloodshot eyes, feeling sick, or are generally unwell.
You should get your blood pressure checked or visit your GP if you have any symptoms you’re worried about. Find out more about high blood pressure.
