Pharmacy2U News

A message from our CEO in these unprecedented times

To all Pharmacy2U patients,

Given the uncertainty the coronavirus is causing in the UK at the moment, I wanted to personally write to you to keep you up to date with how we are dealing with the situation here at Pharmacy2U.

Our priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff. Measures have been put in place to ensure that our dedicated teams can continue to dispense medication to our patients, with minimal disruption to service. We are seeing increased demand, as our service allows patients to receive their repeat prescriptions without leaving home, helping those following NHS and Government advice of social distancing and self-isolation measures.

How we are supporting patients

Our patient services team are supporting patients with urgent or specialist requirements, including supporting those who are over 70 and self-isolating. We would request that patients check their online account for the status of their order, as it is likely more difficult to get through to us on the phone at the moment.

Whilst we continue to support patients with urgent queries, we kindly ask patients to only call us if you have less than 4 days of your medication left. If your prescription has not yet been approved, please try to contact your GP surgery in the first instance.

Order in plenty of time

We would also like to remind patients to order 10 working days before you are due to run out of your medication. This will allow us and your GP time to process your prescription.

The Pharmacy2U team is in constant conversation with our suppliers, the NHS, the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and other health agencies to keep up to date on the COVID-19 situation. We will continue frequent communication with our patients, sharing updates as and when we have further information. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to monitor the NHS website for the latest official advice.

I would like to urge patients to follow the government and NHS advice to keep themselves and others as safe as possible. By pulling together in our communities, this gives us an opportunity to slow the spread of this virus and protect our loved ones, as well as our friends and colleagues working in and for the NHS.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all Pharmacy2U patients and staff for your continued support during this challenging time.
