Pharmacy2U launches one-off prescription service

We're delighted to launch our same day dispatch service

If you’re a registered Pharmacy2U patient and your GP prescribes a one-off prescription and we've received it by 12 noon Monday to Friday - we'll dispatch it the very same day*.

Once dispatched, your one-off prescription will be delivered by Royal Mail. They’ll aim to deliver your order in 1 to 3 working days.

So whether you need a one-off or a repeat prescription - we've got you covered.

*Our same day dispatch service

Here's how to get quick and easy delivery for one-off prescriptions:

  1. Register with us first before your GP prescribes anything. If you’re already a registered Pharmacy2U patient then you don’t need to re-register – just check your payment details are correct if you pay for your prescriptions.
  2. Your one-off prescriptions must be received by us from your GP by 12 noon Monday to Friday
  3. Check that your medication is on our inclusion list.
  4. If you pay for your prescriptions, payment details must be correct on our system by 12 noon on the day of dispatch.

If a one-off prescription and a routine repeat prescription are both received within 15 minutes of each other, they will be dispensed together and the same-day dispatch cannot be guaranteed.

This service is unsuitable for urgent prescriptions. If you need medication on the same day it's prescribed, please contact your GP, visit your local pharmacy, or call NHS 111. You can contact us if a prescription has already been sent to us by your GP.

How it works

Here's how to get quick and easy delivery for one-off prescriptions:

  1. Register with us: download our app or sign up on the website if you're not already registered with us. You’ll need to be registered at a GP surgery in England. Register your payment details in your account if you pay for your prescriptions. If you’re already a registered Pharmacy2U patient then you don’t need to re-register – just check your payment details are correct if you pay for your prescriptions.
  2. Your GP issues a prescription: once we’ve received an electronic one-off prescription from your GP, our pharmacy team will check and dispense it ready for delivery.
  3. Your prescription is dispatched: Royal Mail will deliver your prescription via 2nd class post which typically takes 1-3 working days.

If your GP gives you a paper prescription, this can be dispensed at a local pharmacy. Your GP may also be able to send a one-off electronic prescription for an urgent medicine to a local pharmacy.
