How much does a prescription cost?
The current prescription charge is £9.65 per item which is the same price your local pharmacy will charge. You may be entitled to free prescriptions if you meet specific NHS criteria. For example, if you are aged 60 and over, on income support or under 16 you are entitled to free prescriptions. Visit the NHS page on Who can get free prescriptions to find out if you qualify.
If you pay for your repeat prescriptions, you may want to consider an NHS Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC) which will save you money if you need 2 or more repeat prescriptions a month.
Is this a free service?
Yes! We cover the cost of our service features, including delivery, to ensure our service is free for our patients.
If you usually pay for your NHS prescriptions, you will still need to pay the normal NHS fee - (which is £9.65) per item. If you are exempt from this payment or have a pre-payment certificate, then you will not be charged. Just tell us when you register why you’re entitled to free NHS prescription medication.

What is an NHS repeat prescription?

This means your doctor has given permission for you to be given this medication in future without having to make an appointment every time you run out.
What if my GP can’t send electronic prescriptions?
Some surgeries may not allow any third party or pharmacy to order prescriptions on behalf of their patients. Please call us on 0113 265 0222 to check this for you, but if this is the case - don’t worry. We’ll still remind you when you need to order your prescription. Simply order as normal and your doctor will send us your prescription electronically. We’ll deliver your medicines to you, for free to your chosen address.
