Pharmacy2U Limited is headquartered in Leeds, UK and is registered with Companies House, company number 03802593. We also trade as Chemist Direct. Pharmacy2U is registered as a pharmacy with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and holds an NHS distance selling pharmacy contract. Pharmacy2U is also registered with the Care Quality Commission.
Our Business
Pharmacy2U is the UK’s leading NHS approved online pharmacy and also provides a confidential private online doctor service and vaccination services across the country. As the UK’s first internet pharmacy, established in 1999, Pharmacy2U is now the country’s largest dedicated internet and mail order pharmacy, serving the growing number of people who are unable or unwilling to visit high street pharmacies.
We supply prescription and over the counter medicines and personal care products to be delivered directly to customers.
Our customers typically purchase direct from our websites but they can also buy certain products via other third-party sites such as eBay and Amazon.
Our Policy
We are committed to adopting and improving practices that ensure there is no slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains or any other part of our business.
The products we sell are manufactured in many different countries, and we aim to ensure that these values are upheld across our supply chain.
To achieve this, we are committed to identifying and assessing areas of our business where there could be potential risks of modern slavery, be that directly or indirectly within our supply chain. We seek to develop and implement effective systems and controls to review and monitor compliance with our policy.
Our Whistle-blowing Policy encourages all employee to raise concerns including potential violations of company policies and UK laws. We have reporting mechanisms in place to collect and relay information regarding potential violations to appropriate company resources for review and follow up action.
Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain mainly involves the procurement of pharmaceuticals, the majority coming from large national wholesalers or manufacturers within the UK. Our main suppliers are regulated wholesalers and distributors of medical-surgical products, medical devices and pharmaceutical products.
We purchase these products from European-based suppliers, many of whom are part of larger global organisations. These organisations acknowledge and typically publish their commitment to anti-slavery practices. We review the Anti-slavery policies and statements of our major suppliers, and are committed to assessing all suppliers of third-party brands.
Our suppliers are familiar with our Anti-Slavery policy, and the expectation that their own policies and the policies of their own suppliers meet our same high standard.
We will assess any instances of non-compliance if and when they arise, and take the appropriate action to remedy such non-compliance.
Own-brands
We introduced Chemist Direct own-branded products for vitamins and supplements in FY 21/22, which are sourced from a UK manufacturer who is ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 accredited and working towards the BRC Global standard.
To help ensure that we aren’t involved in modern slavery or the infringement of human rights in any way we may conduct our own independent inspections of third-party facilities involved in the manufacture our products. We will stop using any factories that fail to meet the standards that we set.
Training on modern slavery and trafficking
There are sections about modern slavery and trafficking in the safeguarding training module, which are compulsory for all permanent staff members.
