How to use Rozex
Rozex is usually applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of skin every morning and evening, after the area has first been washed.
Treatment is usually recommended for three to four months. However, the doctor may consider extending the duration of treatment for a further three or four months or more if you are responding well and it's considered necessary. If the cream or gel is not showing any benefits after the first three to four months, you should discuss this with the doctor so that the treatment can be reviewed.

Is Rozex suitable for me?
While using Rozex, you should avoid exposing the treated area to strong sunlight or ultraviolet light as this can make the active ingredient much less effective.
In some circumstances, Rozex Cream or Gel should be used with caution or would not be recommended. For example, children or pregnant or breastfeeding women would be advised not to use this treatment.
Tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, either from your doctor or purchased from a pharmacy. Rozex may not be suitable or may need to be used with caution, if you are taking some medicines, such as anticoagulants (medicines to thin the blood).
It will not be suitable if you are allergic to metronidazole or other nitroimidazole antibiotics, or any of the other ingredients.
You should take care if intending to drink alcohol, as side effects have been reported with this combination, although this should be unlikely as very little of the active ingredient is absorbed into the bloodstream. The patient information leaflet gives more details.
What are the side effects of Rozex?
Like all medicines, Rozex can cause side effects, although not everybody will get them. Side effects that are considered to be common include skin dryness or redness, itching, a burning or stinging sensation, or worsening of the rosacea symptoms. Less commonly reported side effects include nausea and a metallic taste in the mouth.
If you experience any of these symptoms, you should talk to your doctor.
